I know that your life has great purpose here on earth. I believe that your earthly struggles are happening so that someone else may be helped. I will admit that this was not always easy for me to say. It sometimes was easier to feel sad and wonder why. But I know that through all things, God works for the good of those who love Him.

To honor Elena and her continuing battle, we have established the Elena’s Hope Research Fund through the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF).  Money donated to this fund is tax deductible and goes to research in Elena’s name.

UMDF was formed by families affected by mitochondrial disease.  The Foundation provides funds to search for cures and possible treatments.  Check back often to keep posted on our success and upcoming events.

The 2nd Annual Elena's Hope Research Fund Benefit Dinner was held at Liberty Hall in Kimberly, WI, on Friday, September 28th, and was an amazing success!

With Thrivent Financial Southeast Outagamie County Chapter’s supplemental funding we are estimating that we raised $25,082 for mitochondrial disease research!  We had nearly 200 people in attendance - another highly successful event!!
